FAQs

Quality of Life Evaluations

At Vet At Your Door, we understand the importance of ensuring your pet's happiness and comfort, especially as they age or face health challenges. Our Quality-of-Life Evaluations are designed to help you make informed decisions about your pet's care and well-being.

Understanding Quality-of-Life Evaluations

Quality-of-life evaluations are comprehensive assessments that consider various factors affecting your pet's overall well-being. These evaluations are particularly important when your pet:

  • Is aging or has chronic illness

  • Has undergone a significant change in health status

  • Is experiencing decreased mobility, chronic pain, or other debilitating conditions

Our Approach to Evaluations

Our evaluations are conducted with sensitivity and compassion, in our Fear Free Certified manner which helps reduce any stress, anxiety, or pain. In our evaluations, we consider many factors, including your pet's:

  • Physical Health: Assessing pain levels, mobility, and the ability to perform daily activities.

  • Emotional Well-being: Observing signs of distress, discomfort, or changes in behavior and interaction.

  • Overall Comfort: Evaluating your pet’s ability to rest comfortably and enjoy life.

Guiding Families Through Tough Decisions

We provide support and guidance to families facing difficult decisions about their pet's care. Our evaluations aim to:

  • Provide Clarity: Helping you understand your pet's health and quality of life.

  • Support Decision-Making: Offering guidance on potential treatments, care options, or end-of-life decisions.

  • Ensure Dignity: Focusing on maintaining your pet’s dignity and comfort in their remaining time.

The 'One Team Approach'

Our team works closely with you and your pet throughout this process. We believe in building a relationship of trust and understanding, ensuring that the recommendations we make are tailored to your pet's unique situation.
