PREPARING FOR
A SUCCESSFUL HOUSE CALL VISIT
We are very much looking forward to seeing you and your pets! To make your pet's house call visit as smooth and fear-free as possible, please take a few minutes to review these quick tips. A little preparation goes a long way in helping us give your pet the best possible care.
General Guidelines
-
Medications: Please have any medications you give to your pet out and ready for us to review. (If this is a Tech Team Visit, you do not have to do this)
-
Refills: Write down a list of any medications you need refilled for your pet.
-
Fecal Sample: If your pet is due for a fecal parasite check, have a sample prepared in a bag or container.
-
Payment method: Have your credit card or eGift card number available. We no longer accept checks.
For Cats:
-
Be Ready for the Visit: Have your cat in a designated area where we can easily see and handle them, such as a bathroom or a carrier. If your cat tends to hide or is difficult to catch, preparing ahead of time is essential, as we need to stay on schedule for other visits. We unfortunately do not have the time to help you find or chase your cat.
-
Away from the Litterbox: Try to keep your cat away from the litterbox prior to our visit, just in case we need to collect a urine sample.
For Dogs:
-
Collar or Harness: Make sure your dog has a well-fitted collar or, even better, a harness, with a leash nearby.
-
Hold the Treats: Please don’t feed your dog treats this morning if possible, so they’ll be more excited about our treats during the visit! If they have a favorite treat, have them ready for us to use (we have our own bag of treats as well)
-
Prepare for Lab Work: If your dog may need or is getting lab work, please take them outside before our arrival to collect a fresh urine sample. A clean container and, for some, a ladle can be a useful tool for a “sneak-attack” sample!
Thank you for helping us create a stress-free experience for your pet! We look forward to caring for them in the comfort of your home ❤️.
