End-of-Life House Call Veterinarian, Fridays. (can add on Saturdays and/or Sundays if you wish)

Location: Greater Portland Area

Vet At Your Door, a privately- and woman-owned house call veterinary practice, is looking for a highly organized, self-directed, and experienced end-of-life veterinarian for our Southern service area. Most importantly, we need commitment for Fridays. If the veterinarian wishes to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays, we are open to that and can extend it to a full-time offer and all the benefits that go along with that. It is a real benefit to our community for pet owners to be able to let their animals go in the place they love best - their home. People are SO incredibly grateful for it and this is some of the most rewarding veterinary work out there. A nice aside is that it also pays well and is on a pro-sal structure.

Job information: Our end-of-life doctors work on their own in the field (i.e. not usually a tech - we've found that large animal vets really enjoy this job, as the lifestyle is similar - without the on-call part of course!). Your home base (where you start/end your day) is our office in Brunswick and the shift is from 8am-7pm. 25% of that time is admin time, and 75% is in the field. On a given day, you usually would have anywhere from 2-7 euthanasias. Our amazing client liaison team would support you virtually, answering phones, emails, and organizing your day (with you). You would also drive a BRAND NEW vehicle  (Toyota Sienna Hybrid) that is housed at our office in Brunswick. The service area for emergent euthanasias is from Kennebunk to Augusta (south to north) and Lewiston to Woolwich going west to east. Appointments are scheduled as efficiently as possible to minimize drive time. We do require COVID-vaccination, as we go into many senior and immunocompromised homes.

Benefits: If three days are committed to, you would receive full-time benefits (health, vision, dental, short- and long-term disability, VIN, DEA, MVMA/AVMA/PLIT dues etc.). Anyone can participate in our 3% SIMPLE IRA match. And we offer 2 weeks PTO to all full-time employees, with 3 weeks after the first year, 4 weeks after five years.

We have a WONDERFUL group here who has been with us for years - from the receptionists to the techs to the docs (seven of them) to the managers. We have worked incredibly hard to nurture a culture of support and no drama. We take pride in practicing great medicine, helping people and their pets, and providing an exceptional level of client/customer service.

If you are interested, please send a quick email to our medical director, Heather Crispell, DVM, at medicaldirector@vetatyourdoor.com to chat!

Part-Time House Call Licensed Veterinary Technician - Kingfield, ME

Vet At Your Door is seeking a full-time LVT in the Greater Portland Area to perform technician visits at our clients' homes, alongside a wonderful and very experienced veterinary assistant.

Vet At Your Door is a small animal house call practice that strives to minimize stress for pets and owners alike. We believe that happy team members allow us to practice our best medicine. We cater to your career goals while also embracing your commitments outside of work. Plain and simple, we really love and support each other!

We would love to provide technician visits in the Kingfield Area, under the guidance of our veterinarian, to allow the ability to better leverage our staff and create more appointment time for our patients and better serve the needs of our clients.

Technician visits include nail trims, anal gland expressions, lab draws, vaccine boosters, subcutaneous fluid administration, fluids / diabetes tutorials, med drop offs, sample pick-ups, Happy Visits (to get the pet to enjoy people from a veterinary persuasion when they come to visit!) specific types of grooming (potty patches, lion cuts), and anything else that is permitted under our practice act.

You would use our 2021 Highlander Hybrid for rounds and we will give you everything you need to do a great job in the field!

If you are:

  • An LVT

  • A self-starter / go-getter (i.e. don’t need to be told what to do, you just do it)

  • Passionate about high-quality veterinary care and superb customer service.

  • A person who has a legion of raving fans

  • A people-person (i.e. you love people too)

  • Someone who sees yourself reflected in your work

  • An excellent communicator

  • Funny (on the road, it helps!)

Then we might be a perfect match! Hours: Fridays 8am-5pm.

Interested applicants, please forward your resume and cover letter to Tour In-Field Manager, Tina McKeon, LVT at tina@vetatyourdoor.com.
