Come join the revolution!
Interested in joining an amazing veterinary team whose hope it is to revolutionize the veterinary profession, making it a more sustainable and positive work experience? Do you think you would love being able to truly connect with the animals and their people in the comfort of home? See our openings below! We look forward to hearing from you!
Associate House Call Veterinarian
Location: Anywhere in Maine! Portland? Cool. Bar Harbor? Great! Wherever your home is, is where we want you to build your practice.
Introducing a job where you can practice great veterinary medicine, use your home as your home-base, make a good living, and develop your own schedule that works for you!
We would give you everything you need, including a dynamite tech (if you know one, even better), to travel between clients’ homes and really get to know the animals and their owners in the comfort of home. Instead of persistently full exam rooms and a triple-booked schedule, you would see 8-10 clients on a busy day, and still make a great living. There is time to focus. There is time to connect. And there is time and space to enjoy your job. And the time you’re off - You. Are. Off.
Having the “awesome” factor is critical to our hiring practice. Then, we figure out how to build a house call practice around YOU!
So what does awesome mean to us? A veterinarian who:
Is an animal-person, yes, but also a people-person.
Finds meaning in close client relationships, especially towards the end of an animal’s life.
Wants to practice great medicine.
Embraces technology, as we are completely virtual and use technology to make communication seamless.
Likes to be part of a bigger team but is also ok being self-directed.
Makes good decisions.
Is a stickler for customer service / really cares about doing a good job.
Requirements? Besides being your wonderful self, you’ll need a Maine veterinary license, and a dependable, clean car that you like to drive. You can work 16 hours a week, all the way up to 40 hours per week. Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 is required.
Notes about the job: We mostly do euthanasia, hospice / QOL evaluations, wellness visits, and medical work ups and management. We are looking for someone who loves internal medicine but could take or leave surgery (we don’t do that in the field but have great relationships with other local practices that we refer surgeries, hospitalizations, and x-rays to). We have COVID protocols in place to keep everyone safe. We are looking for the right person for anywhere between 2-5 days - it's up to you! There are NO WEEKENDS (unless that is better for you) and we usually have 3/4 of our day be appointments, the other 1/4 doing paperwork/callbacks, etc.
Pay/Benefits: Competitive Pro-sal, partial mileage reimbursement, health / vision / dental if you work more than 30 hours per week, 3% match SIMPLE IRA, 2 weeks PTO that extends three weeks after the first year, CE allowance, sweet VAYD swag.
Please contact Deirdre Frey, VMD at email@example.com to chat! We look forward to hearing from you! Come join our mission to revolutionize the work/life balance in this industry!
Licensed Veterinary Technician - Brunswick and Kingfield
Ever had dreams of living the James Herriot life?
Vet At Your Door, a fast-growing and award-winning house call veterinary practice, is looking for a fabulous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant to team up with a doctor in the field. We are looking for an LVT to work in either the Portland/Brunswick Area or our Kingfield / Maine High Peaks Area.
You would work alongside one veterinarian and would serve as her “right-hand person” while ensuring a top-notch client and patient veterinary experience. Not only would you be in front of the clients, helping to handle the animals and nurture the client relationship, but you would also be doing a lot of "behind the scenes" work including managing inventory and calls and emails.
We also have a need for an LVT to lead a "tech team" who could perform tech-focused visits in the field (blood draws, cold laser, vaccine boosters, etc.)
We treat our team like gold, believing that when our team members are happy, it allows us to practice our best medicine. Oh, and NO WEEKENDS.
If you are:
Someone who doesn’t need to be told what to do, you just do it because it’s what’s needed
Passionate and knowledgeable about animal restraint, high-quality veterinary care, and superb customer service.
A person who has a legion of raving fans
A people-person (not just an animal lover, you love people too)
Someone who sees yourself reflected in your workSomeone who doesn’t get car sick and has a great sense of humor (on the road, it helps!)
Fully Vaccinated for COVID-19 (required for in-field work)
Then you might be a great fit! Hourly wage is very competitive and is based on experience and education ($20-$26/hr). Benefits include health/dental/vision/life insurance, and 3% SIMPLE IRA match.
Interested applicants should forward their resume and cover letter to Tina King, LVT at firstname.lastname@example.org.
